MSpa models can look similar from the garden, but the repair path is not identical. The Oslo combines variable bubbles with a hydro-massage jet system, the round Mono-ECO is a bubble spa in 6- or 8-person form, and the wood-effect Tuscany is a six-person bubble spa. Start with the name and model code on the control box or rating label before buying a pump, heater or panel.

MSpa's current frame range uses a 2200W heater and 1800L/h circulation pump. Oslo variants are listed at 850L or 1150L, Mono-ECO at 930L or 1120L, and Tuscany at 1100L. Those figures are useful sanity checks, but they are not permission to substitute parts: model code and controller generation still win.
E1 / F1 — Water-Flow Fault
This is the first check on an Oslo, Mono or Tuscany that displays E1 or F1. MSpa's current support guidance describes the code as a flow problem, most often caused by a tired filter cartridge or debris at the inlet and outlet screens.
- Switch the spa off and unplug it at the PRCD/RCD. Do not work on the control box while connected to mains.
- Remove the filter cartridge. Rinse it with moderate hose pressure at roughly a 45-degree angle, or fit a fresh, completely dry cartridge. Do not use washing-up liquid or detergent.
- Clear hair, grit and scale from the water inlet and outlet debris screens. Check the water level is above the minimum line.
- Check hoses and inlet/outlet connections for kinks, loose seals or obvious restrictions, then restart filtration.
If E1/F1 returns immediately with a clean filter, clear screens and the right water level, the likely suspects move to the filter pump, flow sensor, wiring or PCB. That is an engineer diagnosis, not a reason to keep resetting the PRCD until it gives up.
E0 / F0, SPL or SPH — Temperature Faults
Newer MSpa controllers use E0/F0 for an out-of-range temperature or temperature-sensor problem. Older units may show SPL for low temperature or SPH for high temperature. Check the actual water temperature first, bring it back into the model's permitted range, shade the control unit from direct sun and power-cycle once.
If the water is in range but the code persists, the temperature sensor, its cable or the control board needs testing. Do not bypass a thermal protection device. An Oslo, Mono or Tuscany that heats slowly without an error can instead have a dirty filter, poor cover insulation, limescale restriction or a failing heater — see our brand-by-brand not-heating guide.
Oslo: Hydro Jets Work Differently
The Oslo has both an air-bubbling system and a separate hydro-massage jet system. That gives you a useful split test:
- Bubbles and heat work, hydro jets do not: check the jet controls, water level, jet-pump inlet and adjustable nozzles before suspecting the heater.
- Neither bubbles nor hydro jets work: check the control box, PRCD, water level and common pump/control connection.
- Jet pump runs but flow is weak: inspect the inlet screens, filter, nozzles and airlock/restriction in the water path.
The official Oslo specification lists a 1100W jet pump, while the air massage has three power levels. Do not fit a generic replacement based only on wattage; the connector and controller must match the F-OS model.
Mono-ECO & Tuscany: No Bubbles
Mono-ECO and Tuscany use air bubbling rather than Oslo's separate hydro-jet circuit. If the filter pump and heater operate but no bubbles appear, switch off at the PRCD and check the bubble inlet, air hose, one-way/check valve and any visible obstruction. Respect the automatic bubble run-time protection: a blower stopping after its timed cycle is not necessarily a failure.
A persistent no-bubble fault can be the air blower, valve, internal hose or control board. Stop if the control box smells hot, trips the RCD or shows signs of water ingress. The jets and bubbles guide covers the safe airflow checks before a repair booking.
Not Heating Properly
Before condemning the heater, make the cheap checks in this order: clean filter, water above the minimum mark, bubbles and jets off while heating, insulated cover correctly fitted, and a clear inlet/outlet path. Current Oslo, Mono-ECO and Tuscany manuals also warn that cold ambient air, wind, an uncovered spa and active bubbling slow the heat-up rate.
In Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, limescale is an additional suspect. Scale can restrict flow and insulate the heater, causing slow heating or a recurring flow code. Leaks, Air Loss & Control-Box Problems
- Water leak: isolate power, inspect inlet/outlet unions, drain valves and hose seals. A wet control box is an electrical hazard, not a “tighten it later” job.
- Air loss: inflate the liner, use soapy water on valves and seams, and mark bubbles. Do not over-inflate in direct sun; heat expansion can stress valves and seams.
- Blank panel or no display: check the socket and PRCD reset once. If it trips again, leave it isolated. The controller, transformer, cable or PCB may be at fault.
- Water ingress: Oslo's touch panel and Tuscany's outdoor control-box cover still need protecting from rain, spray and condensation. Never open the unit while wet or powered.

Do not order a complete pump unit before checking the model plate. A diagnostic visit is usually cheaper than installing the wrong generation of controller and discovering that its plugs, sensors or panel do not match.
